GC Rieber Shipping secures option from British Antarctic Survey

GC Rieber Shipping has announced that British Antarctic Survey (BAS), a unit of the Natural Environment Research Council, has declared its fourth option for a one-year extension of the bareboat charter for research vessel RRS Ernest Shackleton. The option will be effective from August 2017.

The vessel has been on a long-term charter with BAS since August 1999. BAS holds one further  annual option to extend the bareboat charter.
