Shanghai: Li Xiaoming, the ceo of one of the great fallen shipping empires of the downturn, is the Friday regular shipowner profile on our sister site Maritime CEO today. Li discusses lessons learnt from the harsh downturn and new business focuses. The fleet today numbers 38 ships, down from its 100 peak and ships are chasing contracts of affreightment over spot chartering deals. Li stressed there are no plans to expand the fleet, indeed shipping as a constituent part of Grand Shipping Logistics has waned in importance.
