Grimaldi takes concession at Amsterdam port
Italy’s Grimaldi Group has won a 20-year concession for a multipurpose cargo and roro terminal at the Amerikahaven dock in the port of Amsterdam.
In an 80-20 joint venture with the Dutch logistics operator TMA Holding, Grimaldi has formed a subsidiary called Amsterdam Multipurpose Terminal (AMT).
AMT is a 20 ha facility with a 500 m deepsea berth, and a 300 m pier for shortsea traffic.
“We will aim to facilitate the development of the port, improving the services offered to the Dutch market and businesses while exploiting and enhancing its great potential as a multimodal logistic hub, thanks to the numerous road, rail, sea and river connections to and from the rest of Northern Europe,” said AMT president Guido Grimaldi.
Grimaldi already controls Antwerp Euroterminal (AET), Europe’s largest multipurpose terminal.
