Guangdong ports reopen in wake of Usagi
Guangzhou: Most of the ports in Guangdong province reopened this morning in the wake of Sunday’s giant Typhoon Usagi which slammed into southern China.
“The storm landed and went inland, the wind and the waves have become weaker, and shipping at the coastal ports of Guangdong is almost back to normal,” an official from a local government told SinoShip News at 10:30 this morning.
“However, the situation at the most affected area Shanwei is hard to say now, the port should be opened, due to the bad damage, the city needs more time to recover, ” he added. [24/09/13]
