Gulf Marine Services awarded liftboat contract

UAE-based offshore service provider Gulf Marine Services has secured a 6.5-month contract for one of its K-Class self-elevating support vessels (SESVs) from an international EPC contractor.

The contract also include options to extend the charter period.

GMS will provide support for offshore activities on behalf of a Middle East national oil company.  The work will be undertaken in UAE waters, and the vessel has already been mobilised for the project.

“We are encouraged by the steady emergence of new tenders in our core Gulf market, which will allow GMS to focus on building towards full utilisation of all classes of vessel in our fleet,” said Tim Summers, executive chairman of GMS.

The GMS fleet currently consists of 13 SESVs.
