Gunvor Ulstein returns to CEO role at Ulstein Group

Gunvor Ulstein has returned to her previous post as chief executive of Ulstein Group after Cathrine Marti stepped down from the role she held for three years.

Marti (pictured left) has decided to take on a new opportunity outside the group, the company said. Marti joined Ulstein some nine years ago as chief financial officer, the position she had held for six years before taking the helm in November 2020.

Gunvor Ulstein (pictured right) had previously been CEO of Ulstein Group for nearly 22 years and represents the third generation of the family-owned group. She stepped aside in 2020 to take the chair at Ulsmo, the parent company of Ulstein Group.

Norwegian shipbuilder and designer currently has five newbuild projects on its books: two construction service operation vessels (CSOVs) for Germany’s Bernhard Schulte Offshore, two CSOVs for fellow offshore player Olympic, and a cable layer for Nexans.
