ICTSI boss warns on endemic corruption at Manila ports

Manila: Corruption at Manila’s ports is endemic and has been going on for decades, the president of the International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI) told a senate committee on trade and commerce yesterday.

ICTSI president Christian Gonzalez said: “The real problem now is the manipulation of information to create an environment where you feel you have to give money for transactions to move, when in fact, for all practical purposes, it is not true.” [17/10/14]
