ICTSI sets aside $150m for Honduras development
Manila: International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has set aside $150m to develop its Puerto Cortes terminal in Honduras over the next five years.
In February, ICTSI was awarded a 30-year contract for design, financing, construction, maintenance, and operation of the Puerto Cortes facility.
“Over the long term, we’re actually quite excited with the prospects of Honduras and its neighboring countries,” ICTSI treasurer Rafael Consing said at a conference in Manila yesterday.
The container and general cargo terminal of Puerto Cortes will have 1,100 m of quay for containers and 400 mfor general cargo, 14 to 15 m of draft, spread over 62.2 hectares and will be capable of handling 1.8m teu a year. [23/08/13]
