Jan De Nul and Hellenic Cables partnership wins Polish wind farm cabling contract

Belgian marine contractor Jan De Nul and Greece’s Hellenic Cables, part of Cenergy Holdings, have won a contract for export cables that will link the Polish offshore wind farms Baltyk II and Baltyk III to shore.

The contract covers the design, manufacture, transport, and installation of four 220 kV HVAC cables with a combined length of 256km for the project developed by the joint venture of Equinor and Polenergia.

Wind farms Baltyk II and Baltyk III are located in the Polish zone of the Baltic Sea. Each will have a capacity of 720 MW and once finished, provide electricity to more than 2m Polish households.

The latest award continues Jan De Nul and Hellenic Cables’ partnership in offshore cable works after recently announcing their collaboration on the RWE Thor project in Denmark and TenneT DolWin Kappa in Germany. The companies will execute the connection of the two Baltyk wind farms to the shore in 2026.
