Jeddah port paralysis brings urgent ministerial visit

Doha: So bad is the situation on the ground at Jeddah Islamic Port that the Saudi minister of transport, Dr Jabara Suraiseri paid a visit yesterday, eager to fix the paralysis at the kingdom’s top port. Trucks are backed up at the port, suffering from severe overcapacity. Among solutions discussed yesterday were plans to make a dedicated exit road for trucks leaving the port and heading to nearby warehouses. [23/07/13]
