Singapore: Sembcorp Marine has announced that subsidiary Jurong Shipyard has received a $236m contract to build a high specification jackup for Hercules Offshore.
The jackup will adopt the Friede & Goldman JU 200E design jackup, with delivery scheduled in the second quarter of 2016. The jackup will be chartered out to Maersk Oil and Gas for deployment in the UK sector of the North Sea.
With the latest contract, Sembcorp Marine’s total new orders secured in 2014 have reached $1.54bn, while the net order book now stands at $10.52bn, with deliveries extending into 2019. [21/05/14]
