K Line offloads baby cape

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) has just offloaded its second bulker of the year.

Broker sources tell Splash that the diverse Japanese shipping giant has just sold the 11-year-old  Cape Sophia to an unidentified buyer. The 100,000 dwt ship is said to have fetched $6m.

K Line, one of the largest bulker operators in the world, has recently announced plans to cut back its exposure to the sector.

Earlier this year K Line sold a supramax. Plenty more bulkers are expected to be put on sale soon.
