Keppel FELS secures liftboat order

Singapore: Keppel Offshore & Marine has announced that subsidiary, Keppel FELS, has won a contract from Crystal Heights Holdings to build a high-spec liftboat.

The liftboat, which is worth $85m, is scheduled for delivery in the last quarter of 2017, and will have provisions enabling it to operate in China, Middle East and Gulf of Mexico.

Wong Kok Seng, managing director of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Offshore) and Keppel FELS, commented “This latest contract from Crystal Heights is the second liftboat based on Keppel’s innovative proprietary solution that Keppel has been contracted to build within a year.”

Keppel’s joint venture in Qatar, Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine, is currently building a liftboat for a Qatari oilfield service company.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List.
