KHI looks to China for salvation

Tokyo: Japan-based Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ earnings from its shipbuilding business in China for the period of April 2012-March 2013 is expected to exceed Yen8bn, increasing 40% year-on-year. The profit from China will become the major income of KHI’s global shipbuilding business, according to Japanese media.

Currently, KHI jointly operates two shipbuilding yards in Nantong and Dalian with COSCO Shipyard, holding 50% and 49% stakes in each.  [20/11/12]
