Lauritzen Bulkers adds three handies

Lauritzen Bulkers has added to its fleet, taking full ownership of three ships.

The Copenhagen-based handysize player announced the delivery of the 2017-built Asian Bulker and Australian Bulker and the 2015-built Iceland Bulker.

All three cranefitted vessels joined the company’s fleet in August.

VesselsValue data shows the company currently owns eight handies with an average age of six years of which two have been sold to unnamed buyers.

The 36,200 dwt Asian Bulker, currently estimated to be worth around $22m was acquired from Singapore’s Grace Ocean for an undisclosed price. The sister vessel Australian Bulker, which according to databases had been on charter to Lauritzen Baulkers also came from Grace Ocean.

The 37,800 dwt Iceland Bulker, previously Glorious Mahuta, was picked up for around $20.5m from Singapore’s Pacific Carriers.
