Libya resumes gas exports to Italy

Cairo: The Libyan National Oil Corporation said on Sunday that Libya has resumed exports to Italy after protesters left the port of Mellita. The port swing back into operations today.

The National Oil Corporation's spokesman, Mohammed al-Harari, said that the corporation started resuming exports to Italy with small amounts for now. "Once the pressure is increased the sizes will rise too" said al-Harari.

This comes after two weeks of an occupation that took place in the port, that was under the control of protesters with political demands. The port is operated jointly by Italian Eni and the National Oil Corporation.  [18/11/13]
