Maersk Drilling readies Copenhagen IPO

Maersk Drilling is readying for an independent listing on Nasdaq Copenhagen this year after the group failed to find a buyer for the rig company.

Maersk Drilling will release its first consolidated annual report as a standalone entity on February 7 while it has also strengthened its board of directors.

All key management positions relevant for an independently listed company are now filled with CEO Jørn Madsen and CFO Jesper Ridder Olsen constituting the executive management.

Claus Hemmingsen remains as chairman with Maersk family member Robert Uggla appointed vice chairman.

Kathleen McAllister, the former CEO of Transocean, joins the board. She was instrumental in leading Transocean’s IPO. Robert Routs, former executive director at Royal Dutch Shell, will also serve on the board along with Martin Larsen, the CFO of A.P. Moller Holding.

Further details on the separate listing will be announced at a later stage.
