Marine Exhaust Technology: Seeking economical solutions

Frederikshavn: One of the heads of 2011-founded Danish firm Marine Exhaust Technology is today’s profile on Maritime CEO.

Søren Klyvø says owners are well aware of forthcoming regulations and their main priority when seeking ways to comply with environmental rulings is down to price. Another frequently asked question from potential clients is how to document ongoing compliance when operating in restricted areas.

Klyvø is well versed in fielding shipowner questions – as well as his green tech firm, he is the ceo of gearbox specialists Mekanord, also located in Frederikshavn.

Marine Exhaust Technology has a couple of new products it is marketing. First up is the MX SCR, a compact selective catalytic reduction (SCR) unit to comply with upcoming regulations within Emission Control Areas (ECAs).

Then there is the company’s MX Scrubber, which is a compact system to comply with upcoming SOx regulations within ECA areas.

With new rules coming into place in the next couple of years – and more likely to follow – this Danish firm is likely to be fielding plenty of enquiries. [16/09/13]
