Maritime CEO Forum: Dry bulk hit by bad luck or something far more serious?

The first quarter for dry bulk was a “total train wreck”, but is that just down to a series of unfortunate events or is there something more fundamentally wrong with the sector? That was the opening question posed by moderator Tim Huxley from Mandarin Shipping at last week’s lively dry bulk session during the exclusive Maritime CEO Forum held at the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore.

Watch Pankaj Khanna from the Economou Group and Grindrod’s Martyn Wade debate what’s ailing dry bulk in the latest installment of Splash TV with the basic business model of the sector questioned.

A full report on the dry bulk panel will appear in the next issue of Maritime CEO magazine.

Maritime CEO Forum Singapore was sponsored by AVS Global Ship Supply, Cobham, Cockett Marine Oil, Dualog, Inmarsat, Liberian Registry, Lloyd’s Register, Marlink, ShipServ, Veritas Petroleum Services and Wilhelmsen Ship Management. The next Maritime CEO Forum takes place at the Monaco Yacht Club on October 22.
