Meadway adds to Japanese ultramax bulker orderbook

Greek owner Meadway Shipping & Trading has returned to Japan’s Tsuneishi Shipbuilding with a contract for another ultramax bulker newbuild, taking its orderbook to seven ships.

No price has been revealed for the Tess66 Aeroline scrubber-fitted vessel Costas Dellaportas-led outfit expects to deliver in the second quarter of 2026.

The latest deal takes Meadway’s order tally at Tsuneishi to three eco-friendly ultramaxes. The previous two units are scheduled for delivery in 2025.

The company also has a total of four 40,000 dwt bulk carriers booked at Namura Shipbuilding in Japan for delivery in 2024.
