Hong Kong: Companies are continuing to sign up as members of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association (HKSOA) with the tally now at 205. A number of Chinese shipyards who have spun off separate shipowning divisions in Hong Kong are among the new sign ups. Commented HKSOA’s managing director Arthur Bowring, “Hong Kong is a safe haven for when markets are bad.”
Bowring noted the breadth of different sectors coming aboard the association in recent months, notably risk managers, security firms and more shipmanagers. [28/02/13]
