Mitsubishi fleet sales gathers pace

The 83-ship bulker mammoth from Japan, Mitsubishi Corporation, is offloading ships at pace with Splash understanding three have been sold in the last week ago. First to be sold were two 38,000 dwt handies, Unicorn Ocean and Ocean Wealth, sold en bloc for $15m to Orient Shipping. The giant trading house has also sold the 81,000 dwt kamsarmax Sky Jade to undisclosed buyers to a rumoured price of $19m.

The Sky Jade becomes the tenth ship sold by Mitsubishi this year as it focuses on rejuvenating its fleet.
