More SE Asian destinations added to Daily Maersk offerings

Singapore: Maersk Line has announced that its Daily Maersk Service offering to guarantee "total transportation time" has been extended to six more routes.

The six additional services to be included in the programme depart from Jakarta and Laem Chabang for Bremerhaven, Rotterdam and Felixstowe.

With gate-in any day of the week and two weekly cut-offs, the shipping line is promising to transport goods on these routes in 31 days. The clock starts at cut-off and stops when goods are available at the final container yard. The promise is absolute, backed with the same monetary guarantees offered by Daily Maersk.

Vincent Clerc, chief trade and marketing officer, said: "When we launched Daily Maersk, we were trying to implement a new service standard that our customers could expect to get from us. We wondered at times during the development if we'd bitten off more than we could chew. Fortunately our hard work seems to have paid off, a year on we are achieving 98 per cent reliability and feedback from customers is positive. So, we've taken everything we've learnt from Daily Maersk and we've decided to extend the Daily Maersk promise to our customers on these additional routes."  [10/10/12]
