MPI Offshore wins Dutch offshore wind contract

MPI Offshore has announced that its wind turbine installation vessel MPI Resolution has been contracted by RWE for the removal of the mast at IJmuiden Met.

RWE installed a 100m high met mast off the Dutch coast in 2011 to gather meteological data in preparation for the construction and operation of future wind farms in the IJmuiden Ver wind farm area.

MPI Resolution is the world’s first purpose-built wind turbine installation vessel, and it will commence the removal and disposal works in 2016.
