MSC appoints Soren Toft as new CEO

MSC has announced that Soren Toft will join the company as the new chief executive officer of its containers and logistics business, confirming speculation stemming from Toft’s sudden departure from Maersk last week.

“MSC is delighted that Mr Toft will be supporting the Aponte family at the helm to ensure that the company remains a global leader in the years to come. He will report directly to Diego Aponte, group president, and Gianluigi Aponte, founder and group chairman,” the company said.

Toft spent 25 years at Maersk, and was chief operating officer since 2014. He will be relocating to Geneva to take up his new role, with his commencement date yet to be finalised.
