New Scorpio product tankers get timecharter employment

London: NYSE-listed Scorpio Tankers has received three new product tankers from South Korean shipyards. All three vessels have secured short-term employment to unnamed charterers.

STI Pontiac (52,000 dwt, built 2015) is to commence an up to 120-day timecharter after having been delivered from Hyundai Mipo. The MR tanker was fixed at a rate of $18,200/day.

Another MR, STI Manhattan (52,000 dwt, built 2015), was delivered from SPP Shipbuilding in March. The tanker is now employed on a timecharter for up to 120 days at an approximate rate of $19,600/day.

Finally, Daewoo Shipbuilding has delivered the LR2 product tanker STI Winnie (110,000 dwt, built 2015) in March. The vessel has already begun a 55-day voyage charter at approximately $33,500/day.
