New terminal starts trial operation at Jiangyin port

Shanghai: Jiangyin port in Jiangsu province has started trial operation of a new terminal which is jointly invested in by Citic Group and China National Coal Group.

Total investment on the project is RMB1.28bn. Phase one project will include two 50,000dwt berths, one 5,000dwt berth and three 1,000dwt berths. The terminal will have an annual handling capacity of 23m tons.

“This is an important breakthrough of the port logistics development of Jiangyin, and it will enhance Jiangyin port’s position as an important trade port and logistics distribution port along Yangtze River,” said a government official from Jiangyin. [13/06/13]
