Nils Smedegaard Andersen appointed chairman of Scan Global Logistics

Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has appointed former Maersk supremo Nils Smedegaard Andersen as chairman of the board.

In February, CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII (CVC) became the majority shareholder in the Danish logistics firm, a transaction that has now closed, receiving all relevant regulatory approvals from authorities.

Global CEO of SGL Allan Melgaard commented on the appointment: “The foundation of our past and future success is our unique entrepreneurial way of doing business and how our most important ambassadors, our employees, live and exemplify our DNA every single day. Nils shares this view.”

Andersen has held many senior positions since leaving his role as CEO of AP Moller-Maersk in 2016. He is also chairman of the board at Unilever and AzkoNobel.
