Noble bags one-well contract for jackup rig

Offshore driller Noble Corporation has been awarded a one-well contract with oil and gas player DNO Norge for the ultra-harsh environment jackup rig Noble Invincible.

The rig will drill an exploration well on production license 1086 offshore Norway. The contract is expected to begin in August 2024, with an estimated duration of 40 days. The dayrate has not been disclosed.

The new contract will be executed during an option period in the rig’s existing commitment to Aker BP under the Aker BP jackup alliance.

The execution of the deal requires two weeks for blow-off preventer upgrades and then is expected to subsequently resume operations for Aker BP in October 2024. According to the company’s most recent fleet status report, the jackup is set to stay with Aker BP until November 2027.

“We are very pleased to announce this new contract with DNO Norge, which fits perfectly into a short gap on the Noble Invincible Aker BP well sequence,” said Blake Denton, SVP of marketing and contracts at Noble.
