Norside bags contract extension for accommodation vessel

Norway’s Norside has secured a contract extension from Dana Petroleum for its service operation vessel (SOV) Norside Cygnus.

The 2015-built vessel has been working for Dana since May 2022 and the latest deal will keep it utilised until November 2025.

The operator hired the vessel for walk-to-work and accommodation services at the Triton field offshore in the UK but Norside said the unit also proved to be well-suited to carry out ROV operations with the newly installed ROV mezzanine deck.

The Vestland Cygnus was initially designed as a PSV based on the VS 485 Mk II and was later converted to include additional accommodation and a gangway. Seabrokers helped to facilitate the agreement.
