Northern Offshore Services orders CTV pair

Northern Offshore Services (N-O-S) has placed orders for two next-generation crew transfer vessels (CTVs) to be delivered in 2024.

The pair will form a new class of N-O-S-designed CTVs called the I-Class and are said to be a part of the company’s aggressive newbuilding and conversion programme intended to meet the offshore wind industry’s high demand for future sustainability.

N-O-S said the I-Class design is zero CO2-emission CTV and a “guiding star” that will lead the offshore wind industry into the future. The vessels will be equipped with the latest low-emission engine technology and capable of operating in hybrid or fully electrical mode when performing transit and docking.

“We have high expectations for the new series of vessels. At Northern Offshore Services, we set the standards and lead the way for a greener, more sustainable industry,” said Northern Offshore Group chief executive David Kristensson.
