Germany’s Oldendorff has expanded its fleet of baby capes, acquiring four of the 115,000 dwt vessels from Interorient Navigation, while taking an additional two on charter from the Cypriot owner.

The six sister ships are all built at China’s New Times Shipbuilding between 2010 and 2013, and have been operating in a pool with Norden.

The four vessel acquired are the Orient Sun which will be renamed Pia Oldendorff, Orient Strength which will be renamed Peter Oldendorff, Orient Crusader which will be renamed Penelope Oldendorff and Orient Champion which will be renamed Patricia Oldendorff. The two vessels being chartered in are the Orient Centaur and Orient Cavalier.

The six vessels coming in boosts Oldendorff’s baby cape fleet to 40, with 14 of them owned.
