OOCL delays deliveries of four 8,888teu vessels

Shanghai: OOCL is going to delay the delivery of four 8,888teu containerships it ordered at Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding, from 2014 to 2015.

OOCL said it delayed the delivery as it is modifying the vessels in order to optimize engine and fuel efficiency. The work includes update of bulbous bow, rudders, scrubbers and engine.

OOCL reported a net profit of $181m in the first half of this year. The company said it will redouble its efforts in its focus on cost efficiency and operating margin. [13/08/14]
