OSV bonanza due in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: OSK Research analyst Danny Chan has told the local Business Times that up to 34 offshore support vessel charter contracts worth around RM3bn are likely to be handed out by local energy giant Petronas in the coming few weeks.

Virtually all listed Malaysian OSV operators have been given favourable reviews by banking analysts in the past few months as the country’s offshore position is deemed one of the brightest in the world.

In 2012, Petronas discovered 22 new fields in Malaysia.  [20/03/13]
