Shanghai: China Shipbuilding Industry Co (CSIC) announced that its affiliated shipyard, Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry, has signed shipbuilding contracts with a Singaporean owner for the construction of six 8,000hp AHTS vessels and ten 16,000hp AHTS vessels. The order is the single largest offshore vessel order for the shipyard. Broking sources tell SeaShip News that the giant order was placed by Otto Marine.
Wuchang Shipbuilding has been expanding its offshore product portfolio for the past two years. It was awarded a contract by Otto Marine to build four PSVs plus four options in August 2014. [12/01/15]
