Pacific Basin buys first ship since 2015

After a week of intense competition and bidding for the United Prestige kamsarmax owned by troubled Japanese owners United Ocean it has just been revealed in broker reports that United Ocean’s trustees have simultaneously sold a seven year old handy called Ocean Harmony for $9.6m.

The sale is significant as its Hong Kong-based handy specialist Pacific Basin Shipping who is tipped as the taker of the ship, ending 18 months of purchase drought for the listed outfit. Pacific Basin has close to 100 ships in its fleet list.
