Beijing: BHP Billiton has sold its stake in the $45bn Browse LNG project in Western Australia to PetroChina for $1.7bn. The Browse project has failed to deliver the volumes analysts once expected. Nevertheless, the buy in by PetroChina is another sign of China’s keenness to be first at the table for any Australian LNG play. [11/06/13]
