Plans for congested Dammam

Doha: A new area to be created by reclamation has been designated for outbound cargo at the crowded Saudi port of Dammam.

As it stands shippers could only enter cargo to congested Dammam three days prior to sailing. With the new area exporters can move their goods up to a week in advance, making Customs checking far more smooth. Morever, Customs will now use a radiation detection device on outgoing goods from the port to speed up checks.  [21/05/13]
