Product tanker explodes in Vietnam dry dock

Six workers were badly burnt during an explosion onboard a product tanker at a dry dock in Hai Phong, Vietnam on Friday, reports say.

The blast occurred on deck of 2,794 dwt Toan Thang 68 Alci. Workers were reportedly cleaning its cargo tanks while steel cutting work was being performed nearby.

The vessel is managed by Vietnam’s Dong Nam A Petroluem and is state-owned, according to Equasis.
