Result of Fujairah LNG terminal tender to be revealed soon

Dubai: The winning bid in the tender to build an LNG import terminal at the Port of Fujairah will be announced in late 2014 or early 2015, UAE’s energy minister said yesterday.

Suhail bin Mohammed al-Mazroui told state news agency WAM that the project would have capacity of 9m tonnes a year.

The terminal will be operated by Emirates LNG, a joint venture (JV) between UAE state-controlled International Petroleum Investment Co and Mubadala Petroleum. The JV won the contract in November 2013.

Emirates LNG says the new terminal will be able to accommodate the largest LNG tankers. Front-end engineering design (FEED) will be provided by Technip. [10/11/14]
