Singapore: A familiar face among the Singapore shipping scene has relocated to the Isle of Man, although he is adamant it is more “au revoir” than “goodbye” to the Lion Republic and Asia.
Mark Robertshaw, who started recruitment firm Fastream’s Asia business in 2008, has moved on to Bibby Ship Management after living and working in Asia for 16 years.
Robertshaw has taken on the dual roles of managing director of Bibby Ship Management (Western Europe) and group commercial director.
“The group role will mean a fair bit of travel and leaving Singapore and Asia was more of au revoir than goodbye,” Robertshaw told SeaShip News. “I hope to see many familiar faces in Asia over the course of next year as we see a big part of our expansion programme in the Middle East and Asia supporting the growing offshore sector where our ‘power of partnership’ approach to either full technical management or crew management is being well received by clients and supported by our offices in India, Singapore and Philippines.” [02/10/13]
