Saipem hit by Chennai cyber attack

Italian drilling operator Saipem’s servers were hit by a cyber attack originating in Chennai yesterday. The attack mainly hit the company’s servers in the Middle East.

“We are collecting all the elements useful for assessing the impact on our infrastructures and the actions to be taken to restore normal activities,” Saipem stated in a release.

Saipem said it was notifying the report of the incident to the competent authorities.
