Saudi port congestion examined

Doha: The head of the Saudi Ports Authority Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri has provided some explanations for the congestsion hitting many of the kingdom’s ports.

This time of year is traditionally the peak season for traffic in Saudi Arabia, certain Customs procedures do need to be sped up, and a new traffic law which bans trucks operating at certain hours have all contributed to the slowing up of cargoes. He promised to smooth port supply chains as soon as possible. [30/05/13]
