Schlumberger acquires French engineering firm Saltel Industries

Houston-based multinational oil field services company Schlumberger, a world leader in its field, has acquired French firm Saltel Industries for an undisclosed sum.

Saltel is an engineering, manufacturing, and service company that supports the oil and gas industry, offshore and onshore. It specializes in expandable patches and steel packers technology for the industry.

Schlumberger says the deal will lower operational risk and costs as well as adding to its technology portfolio

Saltel is based in Bruz in Upper Brittany, not far from Rennes.

Schlumberger was founded in France in 1926 and now its principal offices are in Houston, Paris, London and The Hague. Its services range from surveying sites to drilling wells.
