Seadrill Partners has been successful in a case in the English High Court relating to the early termination of the contract for semi-submersible West Leo by Tullow Ghana.
Seadrill sought to recover standby and force majeure rates and an early termination fee after Tullow cancelled the contract in December 2016, two months after it sent notice of force majeure related to a drilling ban in Ghana.
The court awarded Seadrill $273m and ordered payment be made within 14 days.
Tullow is considering its options to appeal via the Court of Appeal.
