Sembcorp Marine employees missing in Yangtze tug boat sinking

Singapore: Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine has announced that its tug towing subsidiary, Jurong Marine Services, had three employees onboard a tug boat which sank during a sea trial on the Yangtze river off Jingjiang, Jiangsu yesterday.

Three people who were onboard the vessel were rescued, but another 22 remain missing according to Jiangsu Maritime Safety Administration.
 
Jurong Marine Services had planned to charter the tugboat, JMS Delta, which was built by Shenzhou Machinery in Bengbu, Anhui. The missing people include foreign technical workers from Singapore, Japan, Indonesia and India.
 
Currently rescue work is ongoing. [16/01/15]
