Shelf Drilling scores Nigerian contract

Dubai-headquartered Shelf Drilling has secured a short-term contract for its 1981-built rig Adriatic I for operations offshore Nigeria.

The Oslo-listed jackup rig pure-play said that the firm contract for 90 days is worth around $11m, excluding revenues for mobilisation and demobilisation.

The rig’s last contract with Conoil in Nigeria ended in January. The new campaign with an undisclosed client is scheduled to start in early May 2023.

Founded in 2012 Shelf sports one of the largest jackup fleets with 36 units operating across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, India, West Africa, the Mediterranean and the North Sea.
