Siem Offshore Contractors gets Trianel wind work

Siem Offshore Contractors has been awarded a contract by Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II for the supply and installation of the inner array grid cable system for the Trianel Windpark Borkum Phase II offshore wind farm.

Siem will be utilising vessels and resources within the group for the work, which in addition to the submarine cable installation works will include associated materials and services such as the supply of the submarine composite cables, cable protection systems and related accessories as well as post-installation termination, trenching and testing services.

Project engineering work commences immediately and the marine installation is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2018 subject to the project final investment decision.

Trianel Windpark Borkum Phase II offshore wind farm is located around 40km north of the island of Borkum, Germany within the German sector of the North Sea.

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List.
