Singfar signs for MR quartet at Chengxi

Singaporean owner Singfar International has placed an order for the construction of four MR tankers at China’s Chengxi Shipyard.

The signing is the first cooperation between Singfar and the CSSC-affiliated yard which has been very active with multiple newbuildings booked in the past couple of months.

Chengxi has so far sealed more than 30 shipbuilding contracts, with MR orders as of late coming in from German owner Schoeller Holdings, reported at $42m per ship, and Greece’s An Tankers.

No price has been revealed for Singfar’s 50,000 dwt series set to deliver in 2026. Established in 2020, Singfar is best known for its bunkering business, but it also lists a pair of VLCCs and suezmaxes on its website.
