Spliethoff heads to Mawei for newbuilds

Dutch outfit Spliethoff has signed contracts with Mawei Shipyard for two versatile DP2 B-type vessels.

The B-Type vessels will combine the intake of a multi-purpose vessel with a DP2 making them ideal for supplying large volumes and heavy cargo directly offshore. They also have a removable, automated, pipe-handling gantry crane installed and are also equipped with two 500 mt heavy lift mast cranes, making them suitable for both heavy lift transportation and offshore installation. Each has 2,875 sq m of cargo deck space and 5,700 sq m of total deck space.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery in the autumn of 2021.
